Good Ole Vacay

We (my hubs and kiddo) just got home last night from a little vacation.  Disneyland was the spot of choice.  Of course, like any good vacation, it started off CRAZY!! First, our car battery DIED...like drained, dead, needs to be replaced.  So we go and make a stop at Auto Zone, to find out our battery is behind the front tire!! WHAT?!! So we have no other choice but go to a mechanic.  We go to the Firestone down the way and my husband works out a deal with them.  Oh, and he also jammed  we discovered that the lever that locks the hood was jammed, so that needed to be fixed.  So after the purchase of a new battery, getting it installed, having the lever fixed, heading back to Auto Zone to return the used battery....we're on our way.  NOT!! My husband realizes he needs to pick up his check from work.  We drive over to his restaurant (he's a Chef) to pick up the check, but the owner isn't there yet with them.  So, we wait.  Like 5-10 minutes later the check has arrived and now we are finally on the road to Disneyland starving.  Since we've wasted spent so much time already, we're not stopping- Drive-thru it is!

After we get our food fix, we have gotten back onto the freeway and are not stopping until we get to Disneyland.  Thankfully, there is no traffic and we arrive in great time.  We get into the park and the fun begins.  Since it was a holiday weekend, the park was INSANE.  After 3 hours or so, we decide to leave for a little while.  We go get dinner at our favorite Mexican food restaurant in Anaheim, Mexi Casa.  If you're in Anaheim, GO!! Totally authentic, home-style Mexican food.  The prices are bananas (See picture below)!  Don't be surprised if the service is not the greatest, because in all seriousness, with prices that low do you really think they are hiring quality employees? Ya, not so much.  It's slightly a hole-in-the-wall kinda place, but oh so yummy.

After dinner we head to our hotel to check in.  Now, if you knew my husband, you'd know he is a charmer, a wheeler-and-dealer (not in a bad way), a character for sure.  So we are checking in and he somehow talks his way into getting our rooms upgraded (for free) to the executive suites on the top floor, VIP valet (also free), and points onto a membership club (again free) from not only our previous week's one night stay, but from staying there almost 2 years ago!! How he does this, I have no clue.  Anywho, so we're escorted up to our suite and find the most hilarious sign outside the elevator.  How I forgot to capture it in picture is beyond me!! Anyway, it stated this floor was a Quiet Zone.  No children (we had ours with us), leisure groups, and something else that has slipped my mind, would be allowed on this floor.  Then it went on to list some of the floor upgrades and rules.  The last one was the kicker, No LOUD singing on the floor, especially in the shower. I died.  So back to our room, super nice and oh, the beds....I want all white linens, incredibly fluffy, yet supportive mounds of pillows, and that mattress in my own home.  We unpack a little, get our jackets, freshen up a bit and head back to face the crowds at the park.  Around 10:45pm, we decide to head back to the hotel to get some good rest for tomorrow.

The next morning, we wake up get ready (oh by the way I totally did my hair, make-up and wore cute outfits each day too) and go to breakfast.  After filling up, we go to the park.  Since we were celebrating our daughter's 6th bday we bought her a new princess dress the night before at the park.  On Sunday, she was dressed in a Minnie Mouse skirt we got her last year for her bday and had on a big pink bow (like Minnie would sport) and rocked a birthday pin.  Monday, she wore her new dress, she was so adorable in her Sleeping Beauty costume.  Since anyone can see this blog my husband has requested pictures of her not being put up...so I may edit her photos later so you can at least see her cute outfits this trip! I totally had her in full sparkle this trip ;-) Monday was a blast.  We went on ride after ride after ride.  We had dinner at ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney, then went back to the hotel for a nap and to freshen up again before heading back out.  From 10-11:30pm the park was pretty empty.  We walked onto every ride in Fantasyland.  In fact, when we went on Casey Junior, we were the ONLY ones on the ride.  We lost count after 12 rides of everything we went on just that evening!!  By the time we reached our room, my feet and legs were KILLING me.  I dumbly forgot to pack myself tennis shoes, so I was in wedges and flip-flops the entire time!

Tuesday was our last day of our little vacation.  Oh man was it a bittersweet day.  I woke up early to get showered, put on my make-up, do my hair, get my children ready, and pack....as sore and tired as my hubs and I were, we both agreed that we did not want to end our vacation and face reality again.  Dragging ourselves around Disneyland was pretty hard.  Everyday we were there, it was SOOO packed.  Jimmy Kimmel Live was filming (picture to come later) so that was cool.  Thank goodness we have passes, because other than Monday evening, we really didn't get on that many rides.  At around 4:30 we remembered I brought my pedometer. I started it and clipped it to my husband's pants.  We finished up our day around 7:30...we walked over 4 &1/2 miles for just those 3 hours!!  By the time we got to the tram I didn't think I could even walk to the car.  Seriously, why does it seem that once you leave the gates and are heading home for the day, you feel so insanely tired?! The drive home was really quiet, mainly because we were to tired to talk lol.  I literally cannot remember a time my bed felt better.  We all were asleep early.

This morning I woke up to swollen, bruised, aching feet.  I felt nauseous and my head felt like it was going to explode.  The child in me just wanted to have fun and keep going hard at Disneyland.  The adult in me forgot I have an illness and have to be careful how hard I push myself.  Especially since my husband just got a new job and hasn't been given insurance yet, so we have none; which means I'm not being treated by a doctor or specialists.  I have not felt this horrible in months.  Fear of a relapse is totally on my mind.  I did do my make-up, but my hair is in a hair wrap (that is actually ruffly, pink and girly) and a pony tail...so I semi failed on glaming it up today.  I was hoping getting ready would help me feel a little better- trying the whole look good on the outside to feel good on the inside thing.  Definitely trying to take it easy today, laundry and helping our kiddo do her homework is probably the only thing I'm doing...bad mom award will go to me when I go through a drive-thru for dinner.  I'm sure the trainer in my body challenge would not be proud either, but today I just don't give.

I will be posting later today or tomorrow some pictures of our Disney adventures with my hot husband ;-)
